A branch is a "republish" of a document that may be on a different site. But a branch does not follow the version. This means that you cannot republish and allow the original author to continue editing.

When creating a branch, there should be a checkmark or dropdown that lets you choose between exact version and following the version. Right now we only have the "exact version" behavior.

After the branch has been created, there should be some workflow of changing the document you are following, or to stop following.

We need a UI that makes it very clear what is happening.
